Most recovery pricing charges for total traffic volume: you pay for every visitor, blocked or not. Introtrace only prices recovered signals — the events an adblocker would have dropped if the script weren't running. Say 70% of your audience has no adblocker; that 70% never touches Introtrace at all, and reaches your analytics provider the normal way, direct.
It's also why the free tier is sized for a real production workload, not a token trial. Take a site with 50,000 monthly visitors and a typical 30% block rate: that recovers around 15,000 signals a month, comfortably inside the 20,000-signal free plan. Stay in that range and you can run Introtrace in production indefinitely for free — upgrading is about the dashboard and custom domain, not a trial clock running out.
What You'd Pay Elsewhere
Server-side GTM and proxy services like Stape tackle the same problem, just with a heavier setup and a different billing model. Here's how the economics stack up for a mid-size site.
| Approach | Typical Monthly Cost |
|---|---|
| Introtrace | $0–$19.99 |
| Server-side GTM (self-hosted) | $30–$150+ in cloud hosting |
| Stape (managed sGTM) | $30–$500+ by request volume |
| Build it yourself | Engineering time + hosting |
Server-side GTM and Stape route every visitor through their proxy, so that's what they bill on. Introtrace only touches the fraction an adblocker actually caught, which is why the numbers above track your block rate rather than total traffic.
Which plan should you start with?
Under 100K monthly visitors → Free
Global adblock usage runs 29.5% (32.5% in the US), higher still for technical audiences. At that rate, a site under roughly 100K monthly visitors stays well under 20,000 recovered signals a month. No reason to pay before you outgrow it — the dashboard shows your exact count before you have to decide.
Growing traffic or need the dashboard → Starter
Once recovery trends over time actually matter to you, or your site is closing in on 100K signals, Starter adds the full dashboard, real-time tracking, and a CNAME domain of your own. That domain also recovers more, since a subdomain you control is harder for filter lists to target.
E-commerce or high-traffic sites → Pro or Custom
For sites running paid acquisition at scale, where a single percentage point of recovered conversion data feeds straight into an ad platform's bidding algorithm, Pro is the usual fit for the higher ceiling and priority support. Multiple domains or an SLA requirement pushes that to Custom.
What counts as a signal?
A signal is one analytics event Introtrace catches and forwards after an adblocker kills it: a GA4 pageview, a Facebook Pixel purchase, a GTM container load, a Mixpanel track() call. We only count what we actually recover, never your total analytics volume.
At 50,000 monthly visitors and a 30% block rate, expect 15,000–20,000 recovered signals a month, comfortably inside the free plan. Bigger sites, or audiences with higher block rates, may need to upgrade — the dashboard tracks usage in real time either way.
Pricing questions
What's the difference between the free script and paid plans?
No account needed to use the free script, and it covers up to 20,000 signals a month on its own. Paid plans layer on a dashboard, a custom domain via CNAME, and higher signal ceilings.
Can I switch plans anytime?
Anytime, in either direction. The change takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
What happens if I exceed my signal limit?
You'll get a heads-up as you approach the limit, well before you hit it. From there you can upgrade on the spot or talk to us about a custom plan.
Is there a free trial for paid plans?
Not really a trial, more of a real tier: the free plan's 20K signals a month is enough to run Introtrace against real traffic for as long as you want. Upgrade only once you actually need more.
How does Introtrace pricing compare to server-side GTM or Stape?
Server-side GTM and Stape bill by total request volume, since every visitor's traffic routes through their proxy either way. Introtrace only processes what an adblocker actually blocked, so the bill tracks your block rate instead of your raw traffic — for most sites that lands at a fraction of what a self-hosted sGTM setup costs.
Do unused signals roll over to the next month?
No — limits reset each billing cycle rather than banking unused signals. You'll hear from us well before you're close to the ceiling, and there's no overage charge or service interruption if you do hit it.
Does upgrading require a code change?
No. The script tag doesn't change; upgrading just raises the ceiling and unlocks the dashboard and CNAME setup on top of the integration you already have.
